Days 1 & 2: Oslo – Norway’s Lively Capital

Your private driver-guide will meet you at the airport or your hotel in Oslo to begin your journey through Norway. Spend the first two days enjoying the main attractions in Oslo.

Kick things off with a guided walking tour, strolling along Karl Johans gate, Oslo’s main boulevard, and climbing the roof of the Oslo Opera House for sweeping views of the city skyline and fjord. Explore Akershus Fortress, walking through the grand halls and ceremonial rooms, walking in the footsteps of kings and queens.

Day 3: Lillehammer – Olympic Heritage

On day 3, you’ll leave Oslo for Lillehammer, a charming town best known for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics. On the way there, enjoy a scenic drive along Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, with stunning water and mountain views.

In Lillehammer, take a guided tour of the Maihaugen Open-Air Museum, where you can explore 200 historic buildings and learn about Norwegian life throughout the ages. Art lovers will also enjoy a visit to the Lillehammer Art Museum, home to an impressive collection of modern and contemporary Norwegian art.

Relive Olympic history at Lillehammer Olympic Park, where you can ride the chairlift to the top of the Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jump for breathtaking views over the town and surrounding landscape. Day 4 & 5: Trondheim

Say goodbye to Lillehammer as your guide takes you through the picturesque Gudbrandsdalen Valley on your way to Trondheim.

Begin at Nidaros Cathedral, a stunning blend of Gothic and Romanesque architecture built over the tomb of Saint Olav. Admire its intricate stained-glass windows and grand interior, then climb the cathedral tower for breathtaking views of the city and fjord.

Continue with a guided stroll through the charming Bakklandet District, known for its colorful wooden houses and cobbled streets. Cross the Old Town Bridge, one of Trondheim’s most iconic landmarks, and make your way to Kristiansten Fortress, where your guide will share stories of the city’s defenses while you enjoy sweeping views across Trondheim.

Finish your time in Trondheim with guided tours of two of its most popular museums:

Days 6 & 7: Ålesund

Enjoy the scenic drive southwest through picturesque villages, coastal fjords, and mountain valleys before arriving in Ålesund in the late afternoon. You’ll spend two nights in this picturesque city surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and steep mountain ridges.

The perfect introduction to Ålesund is a trip to the Aksla Viewpoint, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and surrounding islands.

Ålesund is renowned as one of Europe’s best-preserved Art Nouveau towns, and you’ll get a sense of this with a tour of the Jugendstilsenteret (Art Nouveau Centre). See fascinating interactive exhibits that tell the story of the 1904 fire in Ålesund, the city’s reconstruction, and the influence of Art Nouveau on its new look. After your tour, your guide will take you along the Borsundet Canal, where you’ll see old warehouses that have been transformed into boutique shops and galleries.

Finish with a boat trip to the historic Alnes Lighthouse, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. See the small exhibitions in the lighthouse keeper’s house, learning what life was like for them and their families living in isolation.

Day 8: Ålesund to Førde – Fjords, Valleys & Village Life

Break up the drive with a stop at Huldefossen Waterfall. The great thing about this waterfall is you can reach it through just a short walking trail, and it’s often quiet, giving you extra time to take unique photos with your travel group.

Stop for a coffee in the peaceful village of Hornindal before a scenic walk along Hornindalsvatnet, Europe’s deepest lake. Your guide can lead you to the best viewpoints, where you can appreciate the crystal clear lake at your own pace.

Days 9 & 10: Bergen

Depart Førde and enjoy the scenic journey southwest to Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city, where you’ll stay for the remainder of your tour.
